Dr. Lewis Greenberg provides Southwind clients with clinical organizational and operational advisory services related to the development and operation of successful integrated health care systems.

Dr. Greenberg has had significant leadership experience with integrated health care systems and throughout his career. Dr. Greenberg has served in clinical and organizational leadership positions at leading integrated health systems, including the Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania and the CHRISTUS Health System in Texas. Dr. Greenberg is an internist who most recently served as Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

At the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine in San Antonio, Dr. Greenberg has held a variety of roles, including Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs, Assistant Vice President for Medical Affairs, Associate Professor, Internal Medicine, and CEO and President of UT Medicine. The Health Science Center and its faculty practice plan represent the largest multispecialty group in South Texas, with approximately 750 faculty and 280 physicians comprising the clinical core. Dr. Greenberg's responsibility has been to transform the clinical operations and faculty practice to become patient-centric and improve efficiency.

Prior to his appointment at the University of Texas, Dr. Greenberg held two leadership positions at the Geisinger Health System. He served first as Department Director for Centre County and then as Regional Medical Director for the Geisinger Medical Group. Dr. Greenberg was responsible for the clinical operations for approximately 100 physicians in a 50 mile radius. During his tenure, Dr. Greenberg was instrumental in achieving significant financial improvements for the organization. Additionally, he led the strategic development and operations of health care facilities occupying a 52 acre site in State College, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Greenberg also served as Chief Medical Officer of CHRISTUS Medical Group in Houston, Texas. The CHRISTUS Medical Group was then comprised of 140 physicians at 50 sites throughout Texas and Louisiana, with net operating revenue of approximately 60 million dollars. While serving in this position, Dr. Greenberg led several performance improvement, standardization and infrastructure development projects.

Dr. Greenberg earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego, and a Medical Degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Houston and was Chief Resident, Internal Medicine, at the VA Medical Center in Houston. He earned a Master's in Health Administration from the University of Colorado College of Business, Executive Program in Health Administration.
