
Margaret Hoban is Southwind's key executive for assessment of physician practice operations and revenue cycle management, including billing, collections and accounts receivable. In addition, Margaret provides Southwind clients with technical assistance in the selection and implementation of new generation information systems supporting practice operations.
Under Margaret's leadership, the Southwind team has effected dramatic improvements in professional fee revenue cycle operations for many clients. She led the consolidation of four professional fee billing systems, nine hardware platforms and 17 separate databases onto a single IDX Groupcast system for a 100 provider group practice in the Northeast, resulting in a 28 percent improvement in cash collections. For a 150 physician practice and its psychiatric provider affiliate in the Midwest, Margaret directed the restructuring of the professional fee billing process, resulting in a $4.5 million improvement in cash collections. She also led a Southwind team and mentored local staff at a 190 physician, regional multi-specialty clinic in the Northwest during a five month project to completely transform the revenue cycle, resulting in a greater than 100% improvement in time of service collections, net revenue/visit of 16% and a reduction in gross days in accounts receivable of 12 days.
Prior to joining Southwind, Margaret served as Solutions and Services Executive for PhyCor, Inc. where she specialized in bringing design, development and implementation of integrated best practice solutions to multi-specialty groups. Previously, Margaret was Executive Director for PhyCor of Laconia, New Hampshire where she was responsible for general management, customer service and strategic direction of network development for a large multi-specialty group practice. She also worked with the St. Joseph Mercy Community Healthcare System in Pontiac, Michigan for 13 years, serving in a number of positions including Chief Administrative Officer for the Mercy Medical Group and Executive Director, Community Network Development for Primary Care.
Margaret holds a BA from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and an MSM in Business Management from Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration in Troy, Michigan.
