Revenue Cycle Improvement

Under the leadership of Margaret Hoban, Southwind's Executive Vice President in charge of revenue cycle analyses and operational improvements, we join our clients' physician practice management teams in order to lead, facilitate and manage a revenue cycle operations improvement effort.  This effort may also include the selection and implementation of a new practice management information system and EMR.  The services we provide include:
  • Creating and staffing the MSO professional fee revenue cycle executive committee - a decision-making body that has responsibility for policies, procedures, information systems updates, end user reporting and system security;
  • In conjunction with the Professional Fee Revenue Cycle Executive Committee, recruiting and hiring the Professional Fee Revenue Cycle Director;
  • Working with the current MSO Director to recruit and hire additional billing personnel;
  • Leading a project to bring accounts receivable aging to within industry standards;
  • Working closely with assigned information systems personnel to bring all interfaces and electronic capabilities into working order;
  • Developing Revenue Cycle Policies and Procedures for review and approval by the Professional Fee Revenue Cycle Executive Committee;
  • Facilitating the revenue cycle redesign for front end (practice site) personnel in accordance with established policies and procedures;
  • Redesigning the central billing office as appropriate in support of fully automated tasks as established, with an end result of improved billing throughput and cash collections.
